Gatoonga BP - Assam CTC - International Tea Day 2023 Spl

Gatoonga Tea Estate is located in the Jorhat district of Upper Assam and is known for producing the finest Assam CTC. It’s no surprise that this tea has the highest average prices and is in high demand at Indian Tea Auctions from both local buyers and exporters alike. The estate is part of the Legendary Barooah group, widely regarded as the Doyen of Assam Tea.

This special lot of 2nd Flush Assam CTC was produced from leaves plucked on International Tea Day 2023. The plucking was of the highest order ensuring that two leaves and a bud were picked to produce a strong cup of chai.

The raw leaf displays an even cut with a clean blackish look to the granules. The cup produced is gutty and malty, reminiscent of Assam tea from yore. The vibrant kesariya color when had with milk makes it like a single malt. This has to be one of the finer cups of chai we have seen. Upon drinking, the tea will linger in your senses, transporting you to the fields of the Brahmaputra Valley.
